Ayurveda is the world’s oldest Medical System which originated in Vedic Culture. In India, it has been practiced for the last 3000 Years.  ‘Ayurveda’ is derived from Sanskrit words.  Ayur means life and Veda means Science or knowledge. Hence Ayurveda stands for knowledge of life.

In Ayurveda, there are four categories viz.,

  • Saadhya
  • Krichha Saadhya
  • Yaapya
  • Asaadhya
  • Major goals of treatment aid the person by eliminating impurities, reducing symptoms, increasing resistance to diseases and decreasing worry and increasing the harmony of life. 
  • Also called a system of medicines with historic roots.

  • The Ayurveda medical system is divided into three main branches-
  • Nara Ayurveda dealing with human life
  • Satva Ayurveda dealing with Animal life
  • Vriksha Ayurveda dealing with plant life

What are the four cherished goals of life?

Ayurveda believes that positive health is the basis of attaining  the four  cherished  goals of life i.e., Dharma, Ardha, Kama, Moksha.  All four goals cannot be achieved without sound positive health.

Ayurveda treatment starts with our internal purification process followed by a special diet, herbal remedies, massage therapy, yoga or meditation.  Many practitioners believe that Ayurveda is Science of Self healing.
